  • Cornstarch or baby powder
  • Vaseline or similar
  • WD40 or similar

1. Why do your Doc Martens squeak?

Squeaking is usually caused by the rubber sole rubbing against the leather upper, or moisture trapped in your shoe.

2. Stop the squeaking from the inside

There are a few ways to stop your Doc Martens from squeaking. 

You can apply cornstarch or baby powder to the inside of your shoe. 


You could also apply Vaseline or other petroleum product to the inside.

3. Lubricate the soles

If they are still squeaking, try applying Vaseline to the sole, or a lubricant like WD40. 


Just apply a small amount and let it sit for about one hour. Then wipe off any excess.

    WD-40 on the sole of the shoes will also keep snow from sticking to them.
