Just in time to for your summer vacation dreaming, enter the world of “Palm Royale” the latest series from AppleTV+ to cause a buzz. Set in gorgeous Palm Beach, Florida in the 1960s, the show is loosely based on the 2018 novel "Mr. & Mrs. American Pie" by Juliet McDaniel and stars Kristen Wiig as a Tennessee beauty pageant queen desperate to enter the glamorous world of coastal high society.

Throughout the show, the wardrobe is also the star, a colorful swirl of ‘60s prints in shift dresses, caftans and gowns. It’s enough eye candy to get you dreaming of beach life and big sunglasses.

The look has become so popular that Anthropologie has an entire line dedicated to the show. Shop it here.

If you want to capture a bit of this frothy, fun world, here’s how to create the “Palm Royale” look.

Colorful Dress

The 1960s were a time for colorful prints in floral and geometric patterns. Designers such as Lilly Pulitzer and Pucci have a distinct flair for fun, bold prints. Search vintage stores for 1960s dresses such as the one I’m wearing here, or just look for a summery-bright print dress in those classic 1960s sherbet colors of pink, orange and yellow with either a sheath or A-line silhouette. Shop  60s-style dresses.

Layer On Accessories

Get out your teasing comb. This look requires big bubble hair! Tame it with a colorful headscarf, add a large bauble beaded necklace and flower sandals to give this look some detail reminiscent of those playful retro styles. Shop  bauble beaded necklace.

Get Ready To Go

Grab your bag, you’re ready to go out for some fun in the sun. It’s Palm Beach, baby! Summer calls for basket weave bags in bright colors were popular for beachside fun in the 1960s. And you just wouldn’t go anywhere without big statement sunnies!  Shop retro sunglasses.

Now that you know how to get the “Palm Royale” look, will you try it?
