When it comes to the festive season, it’s all about noble fabrics like sequins, organza, velvet, lace. The trick is finding a way to wear these fabrics throughout the year, since we want our wardrobes to work hard for us!

I’m going to show you some party outfit ideas that you can actually inject into your everyday outfit composition, just by changing a few pieces.

Party outfit 1: Sequins

If you choose a busy fabric (pattern, texture), keep the rest of the outfit more subdued. You can see here, I paired a sequin top with a more neutral bottom.

I’ve paired this beautiful top with tailored pants because I think they keep the balance with the asymmetrical neckline of the single-shoulder top.

And always remember–if the sequin garment is cheap, it will detract from the luxurious look. I recommend buying such pieces at the post-holiday sales!

The possibilities are endless with sequin fabric. You can double down, wearing a sequin set.

I love that you can also split up a set and get so much wear out of each piece. You can find them in the most unexpected colors.

That being said, of course black never goes out of fashion.

You can dress up your sequin look. You can even dress them down with sneakers. You can add a relaxed-styled top.

For an evening look, try a sequin skirt, off the shoulder top, barely there sandals, statement earrings and a cute, tiny bag in a chic, 50’s style silhouette.

It’s all you need for fail proof refinement.

This sequin top adds just the right amount of sexy:

If you have a bigger bust, this boat neck balances out the look. Add relaxed jeans or straight, black pants.

Another idea is to go with a sequin camisole, paired with a blazer and jeans. Be sure that they are of the same color family.

For a festive, day to night look, pair a striped t-shirt with a silver, pencil skirt and heels.

This “work on the top, party on the bottom” look proves to work.

Want to make the look more daytime ready? Swap your heels for white sneakers.

Party outfit 2: Organza

For a night out, an organza top over a pretty bra is all the rage.

Alternatively, add a sheer shirt over a cami or crop top.

Even a long sleeve style:

For extra style points, look for a cut-out, puffy sleeves and pair with punchy heels.

Party outfit 3: Velvet

For me, velvet is the ultimate, sultry, festive fabric. For a modern approach, look for a red bodysuit that will highlight the bust area.

Add statement earrings for a touch of polish to an evening outfit.

Party outfit 4: Lace

If sequins and velvet are too much for you, then lace is a great compromise. Nothing is more feminine or romantic than lace.

In the past, lace had a “grandma” connotation, so to break that stigma, opt for bold and bright colors that match the current season.

Don’t be afraid to experiment with color.

For a chic alternative to the little black dress, try combining a sheer, lace top with tailored pants.

Pull your hair back and add at-the-moment statement earrings for the full effect.

Meanwhile, a lace corset adds just the right amount of sexy, with a fitted blazer for a bit of coverage.

Add sparkly mules and a cute, evening bag and you’ll be ready for any soiree.

Believe it or not, lace and denim are a match made in style heaven.

Try adding texture in the form of a leather, biker jacket, finished with a pointed flat and you’re ready for brunch.

Party outfit 5: Cut-outs

Another look that’s been around for a while, and it seems like it’s here to stay.

For those of you who feel nervous about showing more skin, I highly recommend that you taste this trend with a “cold shoulder” top.

Party outfit 5: Cut-outs

Remember, it’s all about how you feel.

Choose a piece that isn’t overly loose because then you risk revealing more of your body than you intended to.

Choosing where the cut-out occurs is key.

I’ve chosen this beautiful, mustard toned dress with an asymmetrical neckline and flattering cut out at the waist.
