Tighten Your Dress in Seconds WITHOUT SEWING
Do you have a dress that you really like but it’s slightly too big for you? Here I’m going to show you a no-sew solution to your problem.
This solution is great for two reasons - first, it means that you don’t need to be able to sew (because who wants to mess up their dress with shoddy DIY), and second, it doesn’t permanently alter the dress in any way, which is also a plus.
Tools and materials:
- Dress
- Metal ring
- Hair tie
1. Place ring on dress
Take the metal ring and place it on the part of the waist where you’d like to cinch the dress in.
I’m using a metal loop earring to do this; it doesn’t matter that it is slightly open on one side.
2. Flip dress up
Flip the fabric up and pinch the other side so that you can clearly see the ring.
3. Tie with hair tie
Now, all you need to do is tie the fabric around the ring with a hair tie.
Tighten your dress in seconds WITHOUT SEWING
Here is the finished look, and as you can see, not only has the adjustment made the dress more form-fitting, but it has also created a beautiful bit of interest in the dress where it cinches in.
I am really happy with this hack and think that it's something every woman needs to know.
Next time you have a dress that is too big, give it a go for yourself!
