This one gives a glossy, almost reflective finish to your hair. It takes just three ingredients to get super extra shiny hair.

Tools and materials:

  • Fresh aloe vera gel
  • Ripe bananas
  • Coconut oil
  • Glass bowl
  • Stirrer
  • Hair coloring brush
Ingredients for DIY hair mask

1. Gather your ingredients

The freshest aloe gel is the best. You only need one aloe leaf.


You’ll also want two ripe bananas and some natural coconut oil.

2. Mix

Mash up the bananas well.


Add them to a glass bowl with the gel from one large aloe leaf.

Pour in enough coconut oil to give a gelatinous consistency that’s not too runny.


Mix them well.

Use a coloring brush to apply the mixture to your hair.

Separate your hair into sections as if you were coloring it, and make sure each part is covered with the mixture.

Massage the remaining mixture through your hair.

4. Shampoo

Leave the mixture on your hair for one hour, before shampooing and drying as normal.
