I Love Tank Tops...Strappy Spaghetti Strap Tops, in Cotton, that are Cool and Fun to Wear...BUT, Finding Ones that Tick All the Boxes for Wear-Ability are Tough to Find...Specifically...Tank Tops with a Bra Shelf.

Wearing Tanks with Bras and Having Bra Straps Exposed, Rigging Up Bras with Paper Clips, Ribbons, and Elastic Apparatus to Hide the Straps, and/or Going Bra-Less, is Not Pretty, Comfortable, or Fun. I Needed to Find a Solution...and Fast...Summer is Fast Upon Us!

Then I did a Little Sewing Experiment and Came Up with Wonderful Successful Results...

A TANK TOP WITH A BRA SHELF...That is an Easy DIY to Sew!

Ready??? Let's Go!

Materials:

Your Favorite Tank Top. (Amazon LINK for Tanks - Tons of Colors.)

Bandeau Bra Tube Top. Amazon LINK.

Upstyle Recommends!

Copy this brilliant hack with these highly recommended bandeaus that Amazon reviewers swear by!

Select a Bandeau Bra Tube Top that does not show through the Tank...the best ones I found are packed in 3's and are in Tons of Colors...For the first attempt, I stuck with White/Nude/Black. The bandeau bras are very easy to wear, no slippage, no binding, and (of course) no straps. The Circle Pads can either be used or discarded...a trick if you use the pads...DO NOT Insert in the Side Pockets, Instead, Place directly against Your Skin...the pads shouldn't wiggle around or fall out. icon

First: Select a Cotton Tank Top that You Love.

Now to Create Your Bra-Shelf Tank: Find the Center of the Tank and Mark.

Next: Insert the Bandeau Bra Inside the Tank...

Keep the Top of the Bra Close to the Front Scoop of the Tank. Pin the Bra to the Center of the Tank.

Moving Forward: Pin the Bra to Each Side Seam of the Tank - The Bra should now be securely pinned to the inside of the Tank.

DO NOT PIN THE BRA TO THE BACK OF THE TANK. It is not necessary to keep the bra securely in place and the back of tank will have a smooth finished look.

The Easy Sewing Part: Sew the Bra to the Tank in the 3 Pinned Spots (Front and 2 Sides)…

Sew a seam 2 inches long at each of the 3 spots on the tank.

The Stitching gently attaches the Bra to the inside of the Tank.

1...2...3 Seams...

THAT'S IT!! 3 Tiny Seams! YOU'RE DONE!!

Now for the Try-On!!!

Wow! Nice!

So Easy to Wear!

A Summer Staple!

Before seeing the pictures, I was about to say only for those with small breasts. But I think you have a clever idea here for we bigger women!
