Nothing screams perfect accessory like a headband. Whether you’re having a good hair day or a not so good one, these little pieces add an extra element of style to any outfit. Follow my step-by-step tutorial and learn how to make the cutest braided headbands! The best part is you don’t even need a sewing machine, just grab some stretchy fabric and you are good to go! Follow this easy guide and let’s get started on making these adorable hair essentials.
Before you get started on creating this adorable headband it’s important to choose a stretchy fabric! I chose to upcycle this old grey shirt I had sitting in my closet. I love that these headbands can be made with any color or fabric design, as long as it is stretchy! I started by cutting a strip of fabric off the bottom of my shirt. My strip came to about 63 inches long.
I folded my fabric strip to get 3 long pieces. I then placed the ends of the pieces under a weight and started braiding.
Once my gorgeous braid was complete, I twisted the folded piece of fabric at the end of the strip and threaded the loose piece through. I repeated this a few times until I had made a small knot. I then did the same on the end that had been under the weight.
All I had left to do was tie the two ends of the braid together and I was left with a perfect braided headband!
I am obsessed with these no-sew headbands! They are so easy to make and are just the perfect hair accessory! What color fabric would you use? Let me know in the comments below!
