2020 has stopped us from doing a lot of fun things, but wearing a mask to trick-or-treat should not be one of them! Here's the cutest DIY Octopus tutorial that will cost less than $20 to make!
Halloween Umbrella Octopus Costume
First, grab a clear umbrella. I found mine at Target for $16. This is the biggest 'splurge' of the project but the best part is when Halloween is over, you have a new umbrella!
While you're at Target, grab white streamers from the party section. These will be your tentacles. Hold your umbrella up and cut strips of streamers 5 inches off the floor. This way, when you're walking they won't get caught.
Next, heat up your glue gun and apply a thin strip of glue to the top of the streamer.
Then, secure it to the fabric rim of the umbrella. Repeat this around the entire umbrella.
While still at Target, grab a pair of giant eyes from the Halloween section.
Apply a generous amount of tacky glue to the back and secure them to your umbrella center.
If you want to go the extra mile, I took a stroll thought the clearance section of my local fabric store and spotted this fun trim. I think it adds a little something extra and a fun pop of color!
Throw on your grey mask and pair it with a white tee and some comfy leggings. You are now in your own bubble. Literally. Get out there and share your creation with your neighborhood!

Very cute. But it looks more like a jelly fish to me. I’d still use it and let people decide for themselves what my costume is. Fast and easy.
