Today it's time to up-style your old maxi skirt to na new and trendy yoga set.

For this project you will need a stretchy old maxi skirt with elastic waistband.

Step 1

Using a pair of leggings that I already owned, I traced the front and back on the fabric. I added 1/2 inch seam allowances on all sides.

Step 2

You should have four pieces altogether, 2 front pieces and 2 back pieces. Then match the front to back pieces be sure that the right sides of the fabrics are facing. Stitch the side seams.

Step 3

I place the side seams at the center to match the front to front crotch seam and back to back seams. Then stitch along the curves use a stretch Stitch or an overlocker.

Step 4

Now the yoga pants is starting to take its shape. Match the inner seam and stitch it using a stretch stitch or if you have an overlocker you can utilize it.

Step5

Using the original waistband that I cut off in the beginning, measure the pants waistline then cut the waistband to the same width adding 1/2 inch seam allowance. Then sew and secure the elastic waistband to form a loop.

Step 6

Quarter the waistline so it will be easy to match up and be sure that the elastic band is evenly distributed. Sew it all the way around using an overlocker or a narrow zigzag stitch.

Step 7

Now it's time to hem the leg holes. Fold in 1/2 inch then sew it all the way around. Now the yoga pants are done it's time to work on the crop top.

Step 8

Using the left over fabric I cut 2 pieces of square fabrics. I used a folded cami as my pattern.

Step 10

I folded in about 1/2 inch along the neckline to make a casing for the elastic.

Step 11

I feed the elastic thru the casing, then I tried it on so I can adjust the tightness of the elastic. It has to to be snug but still comfortable. Stitch the ends of the elastic and then close the drive shut.

Step 12

I shirred stitch on the red line to give this crop top a ruched design.

Step 13

I repeated the same thing on the back but the center back.

Step 14

This is the finished Yoga pants.

Step 15

This is the finished crop tube top, I really like the ruching it gave this top some texture.
