Sharing this beautifully classic Cissy Dress by Homer and Howell's on the blog today.

I first heard about Homer + Howells from the lovely @emilynatsai . She was getting started on their Jenny skirt and she shared her inspo board from Pinterest with me. I knew she was going to turn out something amazing, and the jenny skirt was definitely going to help her reach her goal. It was so her!

So I started following Homer + Howells and liked all their posts on the gram. They're new on the market and boy did they come out with a bang. Susan and Nic definitely know how to get the party started. As I was looking through their feed I fell in love each piece I saw. The Cissy dress called to me and I just knew I had to give it a go.

I was gifted this gorgeous pattern by Nic and I was so excited to get started. I made one slight change to my wearable toile/muslin, and that was making the sleeves bigger. After all, that is the big trend right now. Anyway, you guys, I think this is my all-time fav pattern. It's so AMAZING! It's what I like to call classic perfection. There's just an easy, breezy, romantic feel to this dress. The dress that you can wear anywhere and still look on point no matter what the occasion. The day to night dress. The take me from a boring meeting at work dress to the I'm at dinner with the hubby and feeling sexy dress. That is this dress.

Mine was a really good sew up. There was a slight inconsistency with the bodice front and skirt front match up, but I'm pretty sure that was from me not being super precise with my pleats and didn't effect construction at all. I even emailed Nic and she sent me a helpful pdf! How great is that!? I was initially worried about the change I made to the sleeves; I didn't know how it was going to turn out. Well, the verdict is out: LOVE, LOVE and LOVE. I hope Susan and Nic do too.

Anyway, nothing really to add about construction, it's just that simple. I love the result and I love the slightly oversized feel without feeling swamped. Like I said, this dress fits into any situation. So do yourself a favour and grab this dress to try for yourself! I should also add I'm in no way endorsed for this, and even though I was gifted this dress, I was not asked to test or write a review or anything. These are genuinely my thoughts after sewing up my dress. So sad I have to write this in, but in this day and age we live in I want to make it clear I'm not sponsored in any way and that I'm just so thankful that Nic and Susan gifted me such an amazing pattern! I cannot wait to make many, many and many more. The sky's the limit with where this dress can take me.
