There are so many places to get second-hand clothes, other than your local thrift shop.
I'm going to introduce them to you know and divulge all my secrets on how to find festive pieces.
With the holiday season in full swing, we're going to discuss where to get a beautiful festive look but second-hand... But why?
Because second-hand clothes are way more eco-friendly than fast-fashion.
There are so many places to get second-hand clothes, other than your local thrift shop.
I'm going to introduce them to you know and divulge all my secrets on how to find festive pieces.
Hand-me-downs/borrowing:
This lace top was given to me by a childhood friend who didn't wear it. Ask your friends and family for pieces that are still in good condition, but don't get worn as much as they intended.
Borrowing is also great for the holiday season, instead of buying an outfit you'll wear to one party and then throw out.
Depop: Depop is a fantastic platform. And you don't have to shop from your country. I find that searching for items in the U.K. works great.
Search for specific items (color, material, and size) to get the best results
Facebook Marketplace:
This glittery top, the pearl accessories, and the glittery heels are ALL from Facebook Marketplace. If you want to try the items on, set the location to your city and ask the seller to meet in a public cafe.
Don't search for specifics on this platform. But browse for a bit and you'll be amazed at what you find.
Big Sister Swap:
This is a service based in the U.K. but caters worldwide. They will accept a parcel from you between 1-2 kgs of clothing you don't wear anymore and they'll send you the same weight of clothes in return.
You can pick what you want them to send you, so ask for something festive!
Local shops:
And of course, try local boutiques or second-hand shops. I absolutely love browsing and am always over the moon when I find a beautiful second-hand piece on the cheap.
Happy Holidays!
Love,
Ms. Melior
