Leopard Dress - More Ways to Wear It

Have you thought to yourself "if I buy that patterned dress, I can only wear it so often?". Well, I have! I have always thought it would stand out too much to be able to re-wear it again and again. Here I am going to show you how I styled a leopard dress from Old Navy in more ways than one. Leopard can be hard to style since the colors are dark so most of these looks are paired with black accents but you can add color. I will explain where and how you can add color, if you choose to!

For the first look, I kept it simple: the dress and boots. The dress speaks for itself so by adding a simple pair of black boots just compliments the dress.

For the next look I added a simple black sweater and a pair of black booties. In order to keep the sweater at "waist" level I added a black belt and tucked the sweater into it. For this look, here is where you can add color - maybe a pink sweater or red sweater or even cream. I unfortunately do not have any in my closet at the moment that I would have been able to pair with it. I like this look because the dress now looks like a skirt and gives people the illusion you have the same print in multiple pieces.

A work wear look that I adore would to be to add a simple cardigan and heels. Here I paired the dress with a neutral sandal and a black cardigan. The black tones down the dress while the sandals make it look elegant. I think swapping out the cardigan with a denim jacket is a great way to break up with black and brown colors and also turning the look into a night out.

For a more casual option, I threw on a sweatshirt and some sneakers. This is a go to look for me, especially during quarantine! This is another place you can add color if you wanted: a yellow sweatshirt or pink or even green! I think mixing the patterns is where someone can feel confused. Less is more so make sure whatever patterns you are mixing, compliment each other. Since the bear on this sweatshirt is black, it pairs well with the black in the dress. You can also wear slides or ugg boots if you would like.

This last look would be another great look for the office. A simple black blazer and black booties tones down the leopard print. You can add a belt for more definition or even swap out the shoes for a heel or flat. Personally, a blazer makes everything that much better. Have a red blazer? White blazer? Throw it on top! This look would be elevated with the extra pop of color.

Don't be scared of print; print can work in so many ways! Having prints in your closet breaks up all your basics and allows you to have more fun.
