Quick Fix for a Designer Look

I recently found a super cute top for sale on a popular website for $22.99. They had an original retail of $74.00, but let’s face it...nobody pays that. LoL

Inspiration top.

I found an oversized men’s merino wool lightweight sweater online for a mere $9.00! I was wondering what to use for the cording so I found an old grey t-shirt that matched and made t-shirt yarn, grabbed my box of 1/4” grommets and scissors and headed to my sewing machine!

I started by cutting the sweater down the middle from the center front neck to about my sternum (try it on and mark how far down you want yours to go). Then I pinned and machine sewed where I cut to make a “V” neckline.

Next, I pinned the neck together to mark where to put the grommets and put each one in. All that was left was to lace it up with my t-shirt yarn and voila!

I really like how it turned out. And it’s super comfortable. I wear a camisole under it and I like the look better. I’m too old to wear such a plunged neckline. ☺️

  • T-shirt yarn   (On hand)
