Stitch the sleeve

Fold the edge of your sleeve in, towards the wrong side. Fold around the curve, pinning every two inches.

TIP-

You can do a diagonal baste stitch as you pin along, this will also help preserve the elasticity of the fabric.

Make a flutter sleeve shirt

Place the folded edge of the seam so that it faces downward, line up the machine foot with the folded edge of the fabric, and sew. Use a pin to help you control the fabric so you don’t stretch it while sewing.

Remove your baste stitch

Take out your baste stitch and carefully trim the excess seam allowance.

Pin and sew neckline

Sew your neckline

For the neckline, fold it over about half an inch and pin. Then, sew it with a zigzag stitch.

Press the seams

Press your seams.

TIP-

Don't twist your fabric, keep it straight to create a clean, even edge.

Sew the side seams

Assemble the flutter sleeve shirt

Turn your blouse inside out and pin your sleeve edges. Pin the side seams together, making sure it matches the notches, and sew.

Use a narrow and wide zigzag

As with the shoulder seam’s stitch, do the same here. First a wider zigzag, and then a narrow zigzag. Remember to trim your seam allowance and do the same to the other side.

Hem the flutter shirt

Sew the hem and use either a zigzag stitch or a double-needle- it’s up to you!
