When we talk about jeans it sounds very casual and easy, but there are definitely some tips and tricks that can elevate your style. In this tutorial, I’m going to show you four different ways to style jeans to get a chic and effortless look, and also offer some tips on how to look taller and slimmer.

High-waisted jeans style

Look 1: Perfect for work

This is the classic, perfect for the office outfit. I used skinny jeans as a base. For those with an hourglass figure like mine, I find a dark wash to be the most flattering.

Pair with a white button-down shirt

I paired the jeans with a classic white button-down shirt. This is a piece that every woman should have in her closet. I highly suggest investing in it, because it’s going to last a long time, and when you’re in a rush and don’t know what to wear, it’s a great option that always looks good.

Tuck in the shirt

To style this outfit, the first thing I did was tuck in my shirt. This accentuates the high rise of the jeans, making me look taller, and gives the outfit a more polished look.

Effortless jeans style

My preference is to wear this look with black ankle boots, but it will also look fabulous with a pair of stilettos.

Open buttons for a deeper V

For the final touches, I opened up a few more buttons and rolled up my sleeves. This makes the outfit look more intentional, and a little sexier, if that’s a look you want. You can personalize this look by layering on some accessories like necklaces or rings, or whatever you like.

Look 2: Everyday Parisian

This next look is very cool, chic, and effortless. This is actually my favorite outfit. It doesn’t appear to be anything that special at first, but its simplicity is what makes it so great. Of course, it needs to be styled to take it from “This is what I found in the closet” to “I don’t know what it is about her, but she looks so cool!”

Straight leg mid-rise jeans

I chose classic straight-leg mid-rise jeans for this look. I like the color of these jeans because they can go with any color t-shirt, so it’s easy to change this look up without much effort.

Style straight leg jeans

I added white sneakers and tucked in my t-shirt to highlight my waist. I also rolled up the cuffs of my jeans to show a little more ankle. Because the ankle is the narrowest part of the leg, directing focus to the ankle makes your legs look slimmer.

Red lips make this outfit pop

What really brings this look together is a great red lip.

Effortless style

Red lips will make this look seem very chic while still appearing casual and effortless.

Look 3: Monochromatic

I wanted to include a look with white jeans because I feel like people don’t understand white jeans. Wearing all white can feel intimidating to some people, but if you style it right, all-white can be very delicate, feminine, and elegant.

Wear nude underwear under white

The most important thing to remember when wearing white is to wear the right underwear. I always choose nude-colored underwear, so it blends perfectly under my clothes, and won’t show through my clothes.

Style jeans

The first thing I did, of course, was tuck in my shirt because I want to show off the cut of these jeans. The waist of these jeans is ultra high-rise, but the legs are a relaxed fit. They come up even higher than my natural waist and this is a great cut for my body type. It hugs all my curves on top and makes my body look great, and then relaxes around the legs.

Full monochromatic look

Once again, I rolled up the cuffs of my jeans and put on white sneakers to complete the full monochromatic look. This helps me appear taller because my body is not cut anywhere by a contrasting color.

This is a fantastic look for spring or summer, but I don’t think wearing white has to be only for warmer weather. This can also be a great winter outfit if you switch out the shirt for a chunky sweater.

Easy jeans style

Look 4: Full black and slouchy

I wanted to include as many kinds of jeans as possible, and slouchy jeans are very trendy right now. Since these jeans are a wide, relaxed cut, I chose a fitted top to show off my figure.

Add a belt

I added a belt with a gold buckle to give some detail to the outfit. But because the belt is black it doesn’t interrupt the flow of the all-black outfit, which creates an illusion of length and slimness.

Leopard-print sandals

I paired this look with some leopard-print sandals, which I love because they make everything look so feminine and put together.

Jeans style

I chose the leopard-print sandals because they are in the same color tone as this amazingly chic lightweight trench coat that I am obsessed with. I love the style, I love the color, and because it’s very long, it also makes me look taller.

This is a fantastic outfit for spring, for those days that are not very cold, but you want a layer that’s not too heavy.

I hope you enjoyed these tips for styling different types of jeans and creating your own outfits. I know they will help you to look and feel more stylish and put together. Let me know what you think of these outfits.
