If you're wondering what should be the focal piece of your Spring wardrobe, look no further than the white button-up shirt. This piece is so classic and stylish that it needs very little embellishment. I'm going to be showing you some of the different pants, coats, and jackets that I like to style my white button-up shirt with.

The first and easiest way to style a white button-up shirt is by wearing it with blue denim jeans - such a casual and classic combination. In terms of the shirt itself, I like to style my white button-up shirts by leaving a few buttons unbuttoned at the top, rolling up the sleeves, and half-tucking it in at the front. The exposed neckline allows you to display your favorite necklaces - I’ve kept it simple with a couple of gold chains.

How to style a white button-up shirt

I have four coats and jackets that are on regular rotation in my Spring wardrobe. They are all easy to throw onto an outfit like this. The first coat is a simple trench coat. A trench coat is perfect for the spring because it's super light, making it a great layering piece, but it can also keep you warm. It looks super elegant layered on top of a white button-up top. You could wear it with white sneakers, black leather booties, black mules, or whatever else you like. This is a very versatile look.

The next jacket is this cropped denim jacket which creates a denim on denim look. Brown suede booties and a wide brim fedora finish off this look. This outfit is a modern and stylish take on the Wild West.

Here I've styled the white shirt and jeans with a leather trench coat and black suede mules. This coat has so much personality, you can throw it on top of a simple outfit like this one, and it will instantly elevate your look. With its loose fit, I think that the coat has a somewhat masculine undertone to it, so I paired it with open-heeled mules to add a more delicate and feminine edge.

In this look, I have on a black leather shirt jacket and some white sneakers. The thigh length of the jacket creates a nice contrast against with the waistline of the jeans. This is a low-key and everyday look that still looks put together.

Check out these black wide-leg pants - aren't they gorgeous? Because they're wide, this style of pants can make your legs look short, so I'm wearing them with heeled leather booties to elongate my figure. A trench coat takes this outfit up a notch and creates a runway-worthy look.

This outfit features a cream straight-leg pair of pants which I'm wearing with my black heeled booties. Paired with a leather jacket, this outfit has minimal effort with maximum impact. I love the contrast of the black jacket and shoes against the white shirt and cream pants.

Lastly, we have a pair of belted rike shorts. Here I've cropped the shirt by rolling it up and tucking it in for those balmy and sunny Spring days. A fedora hat brings a high-fashion finish.

These outfits are all effortless to throw together. I've kept the color palette very neutral for a cool and calm Spring vibe. The styling is very minimal, yet each outfit is chic and polished. My advice is to invest in good quality, classic pieces that you love that will see you through year on year.
