How to Wear Light Wash Denim
Have you heard skinny jeans are out and the mom jean are in? Well that's the word on the street, but I don't necessarily agree with that. Jean trends come and go but a good classic skinny pair of jeans are always in style. However, the wash (color) can make a difference and can give you the look without diving in deep into the trend.
Here I have my favorite pair of Zara Jeans in a skinny style in a light wash. I love pairing these jeans with flowy longer tops because the jeans are already slimming me and giving the illusion of some length. Throw on a nice neutral shoe and I'm keeping the long lean line going.
These Target Jeans are a high waist, distressed, wide leg cropped. They my bottom half volume so I stick to a slimmer silhouette on the top half. Still sticking to a neutral shoe to keep the leg line going.
Not to say you can't do a flowy top when you have a flowy bottom; just be careful it is not too oversized. An oversized fit can make you look boxy and frumpy. Opt for a looser cropped style shirt especially if the jeans are high waisted.
I put together some sneaker options as well. Here I have a fitted tank in brown, a tan v neck tee and a black body suit. These are a Mom Jean from Abercrombie with a raw hem and my most worn light wash jeans.
If you notice I like to keep the tops a lighter color for the most part due to the light wash of the jeans.
I hope this was helpful in some way.
