Loafers are such a great shoe to own because they immediately make outfits look very dressed up and make you look put together, but they’re not uncomfortable like high heels are. They have a little bit of a heel, but it’s not too high - you don’t feel like you’re hobbling around. Invest in a good pair, and they will feature happily on your feet for years to come. Take a look at these three different ways that I have styled mine.
How to Style Loafers in 3 Ways
Close your eyes and picture the following - you’re having a tea party in the front garden of a little house in the woods. A gentle breeze blows through the air, and you can hear the birds chirping and the flies humming outside. You inhale deeply and can smell the scent of lavender and honeysuckle in the air.
Now open your eyes. What were you wearing in this blissful scene? Obviously, the outfit that I’m wearing here. (And I’m sharing two pictures with you because I just couldn’t get enough of the enchanting setting).
Jeans and a nice shirt
No more imagining; now we’re in the real world. Pair loafers with a pair of jeans that fall just above your ankles, and you can really give your fancy footwear all of the attention that it deserves.
Here I’m wearing the loafers with a more preppy, schoolgirl outfit. They dress the outfit up to create a stylish and sophisticated vibe.
And there we have it. I hope that you fall in love with loafers as much as I have. The ones I was wearing in this style guide are navy, and I plan to get another pair in a lighter color for the summer. That way, I’ll be able to interchange between the two depending on the season. Whether you want to go for suede, as I have, or you prefer the leather look, a good pair of loafers won’t let you down.
