How to Wear a Modest Crop Top

I hope this goes without saying but, wear things as cropped as you want. Personally I’m only comfortable with showing off so much skin if I’m in a bikini. (I mean, I just got used to off the shoulder things for heavens sake). It probably stems for a multitude of things, one of which is, I am cold all the time. There’s a reason I chose to move back to Florida when I had the chance. But really, if a modest crop top isn’t you thing, more power to ya. I like being sassy over sweet sometimes to. Which leads us to another question, is there really such thing as a modest crop top?

Wearing a Crop Top for the Modest Being

So maybe there isn’t such thing as a “real” modest crop top but, you can certainly wear a crop top in a more modest manner. I’m personally good with showing a sliver of skin from a crop top. But I do have my preferences. I really prefer for the skin to show above my stomach (so my rib area). Shockingly, I, much like everyone else I’m sure, get self conscious about my tummy. Ribs on the other hand, I can deal with better. Lol. Here’s my tips to combat negative body image as well as be a bit more modest:

  • Wear a Matching Crop Set – I’ve found that if a crop top comes in a set, I feel less self conscious about where and how it hits. After all, it was designed that way.
  • Extra High Waisted – When it comes to crop tops, 99.9% of the time I wear them with something high waisted. That way I a) don’t get cold & b) don’t show as much skin. The higher the waist the better I feel when wearing a crop top.
  • Love Yourself – Even on bad days don’t let your frenemy within get the best of you. (That’s what Tara would tell you). If you aren’t feeling a crop top today, you don’t have to wear it. I encourage you to always wear something that makes you feel great. Never settle for less.
