One Pair of Culottes: 15 Ways

In this lookbook, I’m going to be creating some trans-seasonal culotte outfits from summer all the way through winter. My focus here is on slow fashion - using and loving what you already have in your wardrobe as opposed to constantly buying new clothes. Many of the items in this lookbook will feature in more than one outfit, and that mix and match element is part of the beauty of slow fashion.

Style culottes

Feminine & fancy

Go for a silk cami top to create an elegant and elevated outfit. Spice things up with a skinny silk scarf and a pair of tassel earrings.

Styling culottes

Sexy crop

Show some skin by going for a crop top. Dress the casual look up by pairing it with heels, some tassel earrings, and a clutch bag.

How to style culottes

Weekend casual

Kick back and relax with a pair of flats, a denim jacket, and a Panama hat. The culottes will keep you looking stylish, even when you’re not trying.

Basic culottes style

Street style inspired

Dress your culottes down with a graphic tee and a pair of Converse to create a perfect urban look.

How to wear culottes

Nautical inspired

Incorporate nautical fashion into your everyday closet with a dependable striped top. A simple, everyday outfit that doesn’t compromise on style.

Belted

Define your figure with a cinched-in waist. A chic black coat will tick the boxes of being both practical and stylish.

Monochrome with a pop

Feature a sneaky pop of color in a monochrome black look by wearing a pair of red heels. Does that go against the rules? You define the rules, girl.

Elegant & layered

Add a touch of sophistication with a trench coat, some statement earrings, and a clutch bag. Trench coats are always a great layering piece. Wear yours over a white blouse and have the sleeves sticking out for a spot-on layered look.

For the office

Reinvent traditional workwear by wearing your culottes to the office. Pair them with a white blouse, black blazer, and heels for a high-end, professional look.

Menswear & prep inspired

Go for a masculine, tomboy vibe by wearing a white shirt with a black sweater over it. The metallic shoes add a touch of femininity, creating a cohesive look.

Color blocking

Create some contrast by pairing the culottes with a bright yellow turtleneck that will add a touch of happiness to your day. Incorporate some additional color with a pair of red heels.

Proportion play

Contrast the loose tailoring of the pants with a figure-hugging top. Add a pair of heel booties to keep you looking on point.

Layered textures

Pop on a faux fur vest for an interesting textured look. Who doesn’t want to be wrapped warm with soft fur?

Volume x volume

Opt for a relaxed tailoring look with a loose-fitting shirt, complementing the baggy cut of the pants. Feature some color contrast with a black turtleneck underneath the shirt.

Cozy contrast

Wrap up warm with a snug sweater. Opting for one in white will provide the perfect contrast to the black pants - a look that is both stylish and cozy at the same time.

And those are our fifteen culotte looks. Whether you want to go for a more relaxed everyday look or something more dressed up and business-ready, you can create it with your culottes. They will look just as chic however you choose to wear them. I hope that you like the looks that I put together. Which outfit was your favorite?
