DIY Lace-Up Back Crop Top

Adding a lace-up component to any piece is always a great way to spice things up. Here's how to easily transform a basic fitted shirt into a lace-up back crop top — no sewing machine required! Be sure to connect with me on Instagram for more ideas and fun behind the scenes stuff!


Gather Materials

What you'll need:

Step 1: Cut Shirt

Cut a vertical line up the middle of the back of the shirt.



Step 2: Add Stitch Witchery


Add strips of stitch witchery to the cut edges and fold them over, then iron to bond the folds. These double-layered edges will add reinforcement for the lace-up loops.



Step 3: Add Loops


Cut 1/2-inch loops from the elastic and attach them along the double-layered edges with a needle and thread.

Step 4: Lace It Up


Zig-zag lace the elastic cord so the ends are at the bottom, then tie them in a bow.

All done
