These DIY wrap pants are extremely easy to make and look absolutely gorgeous when completed. They are airy, flowy, and light, perfect for a warm summer evening out. If you’d like to learn how to make wrap pants like these, follow along with this tutorial.

Tools and materials:

  • 2 meters viscose fabric
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Measuring tape
  • Fabric chalk or pen
  • Pins
  • Sewing machine
  • Serger (optional)

Fold

Fold your fabric in half, and then in half again.

Pin and sew

Separate the two layers of fabric, and lay them one on top of the other, right sides facing. Pin the crotch seam together, and sew.

Finish edges

Finish all the edges with a serger or an overlock stitch.

Then, hem all the edges by folding them in once and sewing.

Cut waistband

Cut two strips of fabric for the waistband, each measuring 152 centimeters (60 inches) long and 8 centimeters (3 inches) wide.

Pin and sew

Pin and sew the waistband strips along the top edges of the pants, with the right side of the waistband facing the wrong side of the pants.

Then, flip the waistband strip up, away from the pants. Fold in the edge of the strip, and then fold the strip over to the right side of the pants, so the folded edge of the strip meets the waistband seam. Pin the waistband in place.  


Before sewing down the rest of the waistband, fold the ends of the strips in half, right sides facing each other, and sew them down.

Then, start sewing the open edges of the waistband together, folding it inwards on either side to hide the raw edges. Continue sewing straight across as you get to the waistband seam on the pants, and finish by sewing down the open edges of the waistband on the other side. 

How to wear wrap pants

Begin by holding the pants in front of you and tying one side around your waist. 

Gather up the second side and pass it under your legs.

Then wrap the second side around your waist and tie it in the front.

And you now have a pair of beautiful, flowy, summery wrap pants!
