Zesty Orange Soap -Melt And Pour Soap Recipe

So without further ado, let’s make some clear orange soap bars.

How To Make Melt And Pour Orange Soap

Citrus soap recipe

Ingredients

• 1 lb Soap Expressions Clear Melt and Pour soap base
• Orange zest from 3 small oranges, not mandarin. But you can use it too.
• 2 drops of essential oil (I used lavender essential oil because that’s what I had, but you can use orange or bergamot essential oils).

Kitchen Tools to use

• Pyrex or any other Glass measuring cup
• Big wide pot – to sit your measuring cup or bowl,
• Grater – to get your orange zest,
• Spatula to stir the melt and pour soap,
• Silicone mold to make pretty orange soap shapes that are easy to remove when done.

Orange soap directions

1. First things first, set your silicone mold on a cookie tray for easy transfer to the fridge. I forgot that step and had to move my soap while it was still between liquid and solid, and it left ripple marks on the bottom. So don’t make the same mistake.

2. Next, cut the Melt and Pour Soap Base into cubes and put them in a Pyrex measuring cup.

3. Sit the Pyrex measuring cup in a pot of water simmering on a stove, to melt the soap gently. Or melt it in the microwave. Some people prefer to melt their soap in the microwave. I haven’t tried that. But if and when I do, I’d let you know how it went.

4. Use the grater to get as much orange zest as you can from the three oranges.

5. When the Melt and Pour soap cubes have turned into a clear liquid, add the orange zest and a couple of drops of orange essential oil and stir.

6. Then pour the liquid orange soap into your silicone mold, and sprinkle a little orange zest on it before keeping it in the fridge for about 1 to 2 hours to harden.

7. To release your soap bars, open the edges of the mold, and the soap will come out easily.

How to use your citrus soap bars

You can use this melt and pour soap bar the way you use regular soap in the shower.

I’m very careful about the products I use on my face, and I dared to try this citrus soap, and it was great. No burning or dryness.

But if you’re not sure about using it on your face, it’s okay. Moreover, everybody’s skin is different.

So, do what works for you.

When using this zesty soap in the shower, you’d notice bits of orange zest as the soap melts. But it’s not messy.
