1. Mark the bottom of the v-neck on the t-shirt

Now, draw around the collar and, using a ruler, draw two lines to connect the mark to the collar, as shown.

Use your ruler to add markings down the center of your shirt, towards the point of the v. These should be half an inch apart. Then, use these lines to go across the triangle, following the shape of the collar.

4. Cut the collar

Grab your scissors and cut off the collar.

5. Start the t-shirt cutting

Now it’s time for the creative part! Insert the cardboard inside your shirt and start cutting along the lines inside the triangle.

6. Stretch the pieces

Then, stretch all of the strips.

7. Turn t-shirt the other way

Turn your v-neck t-shirt right side in and place the cardboard back inside.

Now it’s time to weave! Grab the top strip and pull it down, then grab the second strip, and pull it over the top, then down. Pull the third strip over the second strip and down over the fourth strip.


Continue this process down to the bottom.

While still holding onto that bottom loop, repeat the process. You could even go for a third round, depending on your t-shirt size and stretch.

9. Cut and tie the ends

Once you’re done weaving, grab the bottom loop and cut it.

Put one end through the hole at the bottom and tie the ends.

The following design is slightly different. This time, make the collar about an inch wider on each side.

Grab your scissors and cut along the collar through both layers.

Insert the cardboard inside your shirt and cut the strips accordingly. Then, like before, stretch the strips.

3. Second t-shirt weaving technique

It’s time to weave your second t-shirt. Grab the top strip and pull it down. Then, grab the second strip, pull it up over the first, then down, so that you can grab the third strip. Pull the third up over the second.


Continue this process until you reach the bottom.

While holding the bottom, with your other hand, grab the first loop, twist it, and pull the second strand up through that loop. Twist the second strand and then pull the third up through the second loop.


Continue all the way down.

Once you are done weaving, grab the bottom loop and cut it in half. Put one end through the hole at the bottom and tie both ends together.
