Step 2: Wrap String Around Hoop

Select string in the color that you’d like to be your base and tie the end in a knot at one side of the hoop. Wrap the string around the hoop until the surface is all covered, then tie another knot at the end and trim any excess string.

Step 3: Measure Tassel String

Select the color you’d like your first tassel to be and fold that string about 5 or 6 times in 3-inch segments. Cut the excess string.

Step 4: Create Tassel

Fold the bunch of string over the hoop at the bottom left side. Take the loose ends and tie a tight knot under the base of the hoop to secure the tassel to the hoop. Trim the folded bottoms of the bunch open to create the tassel. Repeat this process until you have 7 tassels in the colors of your choice. I chose to alternate colors in a gradient pattern!

Step 5: Secure with Glue

Once all tassels have been created, use fabric glue to secure the ends of the strings onto the hoop so everything stays put.

All done!

Once the glue dries, your DIY tassel hoop earrings are now complete! These will add the perfect pop of color to any outfit and you’ll be able to brag to your friends about making them yourself. Let me know if you decide to try them out and feel free to send me photos of your results!

Would work well on slightly tarnished earrings and just replace the hooks with new ones, I just turned 70 love colour and why should the kids have all the fun.🇦🇺 thank you! Spring in lockdown needs plenty of colour.
