Hey guys, it’s been a long time since I have done anything makeup related as a tutorial. Maybe it’s because as I get older, I find myself not caring about makeup so much and care more for a good, solid skincare routine. When it comes to applying makeup, I tend to go for a quick minimalist approach.

I was thinking there are probably many people like me who want to add some color to their faces without spending a ton of time doing it.

Today, I am going to show you my daily 5-minute makeup routine using only 5 products.

Tools and materials:

  • Concealer/ tinted moisturizer/foundation drops
  • Tinted brow gel
  • Eyeliner
  • Mascara
  • Lipstick
  • Eyebrow pencil (optional)
  • Shimmery blush highlighter (optional)
Applying concealer

1. Start with the base

The first thing I do in my 5-minute makeup routine is apply my base. I personally like a foundation free makeup look so I only use concealer.

I have trouble finding a foundation that suits my skin, and wearing foundation feels like I’m wearing a lot of makeup, which I do not enjoy.

Instead, I usually apply concealer over the dark circles on my eyes to brighten the area.

When I do want a little bit more coverage I will either use a tinted moisturizer or I’ll mix some foundation drops into my daily cream.

2. Move onto the eyebrows

My eyebrows are next, and I use a tinted eyebrow gel to shape them and to color in any areas that may be sparse.

My eyebrows are naturally full, so I don't need to spend too much time here. I just like to make sure they look clean and polished.

Applying eyeliner

3. Line your eyes

Winged eyeliner has become my signature look and I achieve this by using a liquid eyeliner.

You obviously don’t have to make a wing, do what you are comfortable with, but I think eyeliner is important and makes your eyes pop.

Applying eyeliner

I draw my wing by starting in the center of my eye and making a line going out.

Then I go from the inner corner and connect to the center.

Lastly, I draw my wing from outside going in.

Applying mascara

4. Add mascara

Once my liner is finished, I go straight in with mascara on both the top and bottom lashes.

Some advice I have for those who want long, full lashes is to use an eyelash serum. I have for quite some time now and my lashes are super long.

Adding lipstick

5. Add lipstick

I usually switch between two shades of lipstick, depending on how I’m feeling or what I am wearing that day.

I would suggest using a lipstick that is easy to apply, wears comfortably and is long lasting.

That is my basic, 5 product makeup routine done. This is what I would wear daily.

Adding eyebrow pencil

Extra steps when I have more time

When I want to put in a little bit more effort, I will add an eyebrow pencil. I just use that to draw in any gaps that I might still have in my eyebrow.

I like to extend the tail of my eyebrow a little bit.

Adding blush highlighter

The other thing that I will sometimes add is a shimmery blush highlighter.

I’ll apply that all over my cheeks and blend it out onto the top of my cheekbones so that when the light hits, I get a bit of that gold shimmer there.

Completed 5-minute makeup routine

I feel like the internet is saturated with very extensive high-coverage routines and there's nothing wrong with that. I absolutely love seeing those, especially the super artsy ones. However, I think for many people this 5-minute makeup routine may be a little bit more realistic.

Hopefully you will find inspiration for your own quick look in my routine.

I would love to hear what your routines are! See you soon.
