Spring is around the corner, and even though we are in a pandemic we are still outside. Time to get prepared to “Style Up” and maximize your wardrobes, but on a friendly budget. Today on the blog, I would like to share some tips to help you while shopping this spring that can also be used in your everyday life.

Tip 1: Create a Budget

When you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Before you do anything, create a budget for yourself. Think about what you want to spend after all your bills are said and done. Stick to that budget and try your best not to go over.

Tip 2: Fill in the Missing Gaps

Once you create your budget, do a closet audit. A closet audit is an inspection of your closet and checking to see what items are missing that you need. Fill in those missing gaps by creating a list of the missing items that you need. This will also help you to stay on budget. You know we as women like to stray, and will get another lipstick or purse instead of those jeans we need. Stay on track sis!

Tip 3: What’s the Occasion?

The occasion is very important so you can know what type of items you need to look for, and what stores may carry the items on your list. Also, you can switch a few of the items on your list from solid colors to spring prints to make your spring wardrobe more fun. Fun prints add a more fun and vibrant personality.

Tip 4: Email Sign Up

Sign up to your favorite stores email list. When you do this you can plan and budget so you wont miss a beat. Retailers love new email subscribers. It is like a secret society that gets first pick on everything. Plus, you are always getting a discount code on something. Sign up to that list sis!

Tip 5: Go Thrifting

Last tip, go thrifting. Thrifting is a job within itself, but it is so worth it. You can find some great things and hidden gems most of the time. Make sure that you have time, and be prepared to go to multiple stores. The more the merrier. Also, thrift stores have email sign up list too! I have received a 50% off coupon plenty of times, and left the store with 3 blazers, 5 shirts, and 2 pair of shoes under $50! “Style Up”!

Shopping is so fun, but not when you over spend. I hope these tips helped you in some way for your next shopping adventure. Let me know in the comments your thoughts on these tips and if you have any to add. I would love to hear them. Until next time, Style Up!
