Hello. Blessings to you all for 2023.

I have had my straightener for a couple of years and using this little hack has helped alot. For this post I am using a Remington hair straightener with ceramic plates.

My sister likes the brand GHD and swears they're the best around. They can be expensive but they are popular around England and all of the salons seem to use & sell this brand.

I did steal this tip from ghd advice in how to care for ceramic straighteners as they also have a lifetime warranty.

I'm sharing this tip because I am pretty sure it's the reason my straightener has lasted me this long.

Some people will notice their straighteners will pull at their hair or just aren't working as good as they used to - this is a sign it's time to clean your straightener you don't have to go out and buy a new one!! Just clean the one you already have.

To begin you will need a small amount of nail polish remover

Grab 1 cotton pad and apply some nail polish remover on it

Make sure to just wet one side like this

Now starting at the rims and edges you want to wipe down your straightener with the wet cotton pad

Here I am cleaning mine

It will look like below

That's hair gunk!

Repeat and clean all the rims around the edges.

Then clean the main top and bottom ceramic plates with the same pad removing all hair gunk.

Don't be surprised how the pad will look 😬

*Let it dry naturally which will take seconds.

Awe..🤪 kinda gross but oh well!

So there was a lot of hair products on these straighteners.

And there is the hair straighteners very clean.

And feeling brand new when used.

Mine always feels new once I've cleaned them, not dragging or pulling hair out, causing split ends.

Some ppl would go out and buy new ones when this happens?

Thank you

Louise
