Are you still doing your hair in a boring bun?

Here, I’m going to show you a cute twisted and wrapped low-bun hairstyle to shake things up and add something different to the mix. Let’s jump on in!

Tools and materials:

  • Hair elastics
  • Hair tie
Tying hair up

1. Tie up hair

First, tie your hair in a half ponytail.

2. Flip ponytail

Next, create a gap in your hair above the elastic and flip the ponytail through it.

Then gently pull on the hair at either side to create some more volume.

Making a bun

3. Make a bun

Tie your hair as if you were going to make a ponytail, but don’t pull it all the way through.

This will leave you with a bun at the top and the rest of the hair hanging down. Pull on the bun to make it more voluminous.

Wrapping hair around

4. Wrap hair around

Wrap the bottom part of the ponytail around the bun to hide the hair tie.

Tuck the end of the hair into the hair tie to secure it in place.

Here is the finished look, and I like to call it a bun 2.0.

We have the twisted detail on either side going on at the top and hair wrapped around the low bun at the bottom.

These two elements come together to make a really interesting and cute look.
