Watch how I make this twist braid hairstyle that takes just a few minutes and no actual braiding skills are required! You get the look of braids by just twisting. Let’s get started.

Tools and materials:

  • Brush
  • 4 hair elastics
Twisting hair

1. Part your hair and begin twisting at your temple

Start with a middle part and split your hair equally down the back as if you were going to make 2 pigtails.

Then, starting on one side, grab a small section of hair at your temple from the roots and tightly twist the hair toward your head.

2. Twist until the bottom of your ear

While still holding the hair tightly, continue to twist, adding in more has along your face.

Keep twisting the hair until you reach about the bottom of your ear.

Then, tie off the twisted hair with a hair elastic. It’s important that both the twisted hair and the elastic are tight so that it doesn’t unwind.

3. Split and twist the tail

Grab the tail of this hair and split it into 2 equal sections.

Then tightly twist the 2 halves all the way to the end.

Again, the emphasis is on a tight twist so that this twisted braid does not unravel!

Finally, tie off the end with a hair elastic.

4. Repeat

Now just repeat the same thing on the other side for your 2nd twist braid. Here is the final look:

From the front, the hair is swept out of the face and looks cute.
