I am using a William Morris print here which has lovely tones in it and feels lovely to wear.

You will need:

  • scrap of Liberty Tana Lawn
  • Sewing Machine, thread and pins
  • pinking shears
  • elastic hair tie

Cut out the paper template for your bow and two pieces in your main fabric

With right sides together, pin and stitch around the edge with a 5mm seam allowance. Leave a gap for turning.

Cut around the edge using your pinking shears which will help give a smooth finish once it's turned out

Turn the right way out. To get the corners to a nice point you can use a knitting needle. Press, turning the raw edges of the gap inwards.

Top stitch around the bow, securing the raw edges inside. You can now tie the bow onto the hair tie using a single knot

Fantastic! Your Liberty hair tie is all done and ready to wear
