Tools and materials:

1. Two braids

Styling hair into two side braids

1. Braid your hair

Braid your hair into two braids that are braided against the scalp.

Tying a scarf around the braids

2. Tie a scarf into a bow

Tie the scarf into a bow. Adjust it to your liking by tugging on the edges to make it tighter or fan it out so it’s fuller.

Easy hairstyles with a scarf

You can wear it on the top or side of your head. Braids are my go-to hairstyle lately because it’s so hot, so the scarf gives a nice touch to such a simple hairstyle.

2. Scarf headband with waves

Taking out braids to get heatless waves

1. Braid your hair overnight (optional)

I wore my hair in braids overnight so I could have heatless waves when I woke up in the morning, which are perfect for this next hairstyle.

When you take out your hair, it’s best to do it while it’s damp.

Sectioning out the front of hair

2. Section the front of your hair

Section off the front pieces of your hair and tie up the rest in the back.

Tying the scarf around the head

3. Tie the scarf

Tie the scarf around your head so that the knot is at the base of your neck. Double knot it so it’s secure. Then, take down the rest of your hair.

Ponytail with a scarf hair tie

This one is pretty easy and simple, which is why I love it. I adore any hairstyle that will get my hair up and out of my face, especially in the summertime, so I appreciate a cute high ponytail that’s effortless but still looks like I put in the effort.

4. Braided scarf

Dividing hair into three sections

1. Section hair

To start off, section three pieces of hair.

Placing the scarf on the top of the head

Place the scarf on your head, making sure that both sides are an even length.

Start braiding as if it’s a normal braid and the scarf is a part of the section of hair. Tie off the hair with a hair tie at the end.

Take the end of the scarf and wrap it around the hair tie.

Framing the face with sections of hair

4. Frame the face and pin in place

Pull out some face-framing pieces. Use a bobby pin to secure the sides of your hair.

It took me a couple of tries to get right but I think the end result is worth it.

5. Scarf with a bun

1. Twist hair

Start with your hair parted to the side. Take two sections of hair in the front and twist them. Take another section of hair and add it to one of the two in your hand and twist. Repeat this until you get to the back.

Pin in place with a bobby pin. Repeat on the other side.

Twist one side of the scarf underneath and around the bun. Repeat with the other side of the scarf but in the opposite direction. Tie at the bottom.

I slid the bow off to the side as I thought it’d look better. The oversized bow is super cute with this bun.
