This Summer Scarf Top Will WOW Everyone
With a large, lightweight scarf in your baggage, you have potentially multiple summer tops to wear.
My scarf is about 36 inches (90 cm) long and wide enough to wrap easily around my waist.
Follow along to see how I tie it into a glamorous one-shouldered top in under a minute.
Best silk scarf!
Tools and materials:
- Large rectangular or square scarf
- Safety pin or brooch
1. Knot
Hold the scarf behind your waist. Grasp the two top corners and twist them.
Knot the two corners together in front at waist level.
2. Twist
Swivel the knot around to the back.
Lift up the length of the scarf and bring it towards one shoulder so that it covers your breasts.
Start twisting the scarf from shoulder level.
Bring the twisted scarf over your shoulder and tuck it underneath the knot at your waist.
Knot the long end of the scarf with the free ends of the existing knot.
3. Twist again
Twist the remaining length of the scarf around itself.
Bring it up your back and over the same shoulder to the front.
4. Pin it
Use a safety pin or decorative brooch to pin the end under the twisted strap and tuck any loose ends out of sight.
DIY summer scarf top
The twisted straps give a rope effect to the one-shouldered look. The double shoulder straps make it stand out.
The back view is just as interesting and elegant as the front.
