Ever dreamed of having big fluffy curls? Then, you’ve come to the right place. I’m going to show you my hair care routine and how to get fluffy curls! All you need is a little time and a few products.

Let’s get this big fluffy curls tutorial underway; prepare to look gorgeous!

Tools and materials:

  • Volumizing hair mousse
  • Blowdryer
  • Curling iron
  • Hairbrush

1. Use a volumizing mousse

Apply a volumizing mousse to wet, washed hair. This will make your hair look fluffy and full.

I use this every single time, even when I straighten my hair. I hate when my hair is flat, and this product really brings up the volume. Simply spray the product to your roots, as shown.

You can also squirt some onto your hand and massage it into your hair. This will feel a little sticky and tacky, but once you blowdry your hair, you won’t feel the tackiness.

2. Blow dry your hair

Now, blow dry your hair, using the highest speed and hottest setting.

When it’s around 80% dry, brush it out really lightly. Continue blow-drying your hair, so it’s 100% dry.

3. Use a curling iron

Now, it’s time to make those big fluffy curls! I’m using a curling iron with a medium-sized barrel.

To curl your hair, take small sections and wrap them around the curling wand. You can section your hair into three (back and sides) to make the process easier.

Hold each section for around 10 seconds. Be careful not to wait too long; we all know what could happen!

4. Hold the curl until it cools

Then, bring the curled section up to your scalp using the palm of your hand, and wait until it cools down.

Pulling the end to make the curl loose

Then, let it loose and pull the end a little to create a fluffy curl.

Continue this process throughout your hair.

Tip: There’s no specific direction or style I go for; I curl all my sections the same way.

Curling the front sections of hair

When curling the front sections, pull the curled section away from your face.

5. Run fingers through the curls

Once complete, run your fingers through your curls to kind of brush and fluff them out.
