Learn how to make a candy corn tie dye shirt. If you’re on Team Candy Corn, this tie dye shirt is definitely for you!

Download and print the tie dye template to make drawing the design easier. Make it the size you want and then print and cut it out.

Fold the shirt in half and draw a half of a candy corn using a washable marker. Draw two lines across the triangle. Use the template to make it easier.

(My shirt has a bunch of lines because I couldn't decide where to put them, but the printable template has them in the right place)

Wet the shirt and squeeze out the excess water. Then start at one end of the outline and accordion fold the shirt on the line. Be sure to keep the line of the fold straight.

Wrap a rubber band across the line to secure all the folds in place.

Wrap the rest of the shirt with rubber bands or zip ties.

Soak it in a solution of soda ash and water.

Mix 1 cup of soda ash with 1 gallon of water until it’s all dissolved.

Put on the gloves and cover the table with plastic wrap. Start with the orange dye and dye the bottom of the candy corn section, up to the first line.

Then add the yellow dye above the orange, up to the second line.

Dye the rest of the shirt black.

Wrap it in the plastic and let it set for at least 6 hours, but I recommend giving it a full 24 hours.

Rinse it under water and remove the rubber bands or zip ties, rinsing until the water runs clear. Then wash it in the washing machine and dryer.
