Today, I’m going to be showing you how to get a clean, natural look with this light spring color palette makeup. This look uses bright spring makeup, making it perfect for your everyday look. It’s super light, not heavy at all, and looks really fresh.

Spring makeup is one of my favorite things to do, so if you’ve been on the lookout for a new look, you’re in the right place. Let’s get started.

Tools and materials:

  • Brightening serum
  • Eye cream
  • Active sunscreen
  • Hydrating mist
  • Foundation
  • Concealer
  • Translucent powder
  • Contour stick
  • Liquid lipstick
  • Highlighter
  • Brow brush or spoolie
  • Brow pencil
  • Liquid eyeshadow
  • Mascara
  • Lash curler
  • Sleeping lip mask
Applying a brightening serum all over the face

1. Apply a brightening serum

Take a brightening serum and apply it all over your skin. This really brightens up my skin and leaves a beautiful, dewy finish.

Applying eye cream under the eyes

2. Apply eye cream

Next, go in with an eye cream and apply it gently underneath your eyes to make the skin plump and hydrated

Applying an active sunscreen

3. Apply an active sunscreen

Then, apply an active sunscreen. I’m using one with SPF 50. Active, or chemical, sunscreens are typically very rich, hydrating, and moisturizing all without leaving a white cast.

Spraying hydrating mist before applying makeup

4. Spray your face with a hydrating mist

To finish prepping your skin, use a hydrating mist all over your face. Use your hands to fan dry.

This is perfect to use before your foundation as it plumps up your skin and makes the process of applying foundation a lot more smooth.

Applying a dewy foundation

5. Apply foundation

Now it’s time to go in with the foundation. I like to use a foundation that gives my skin a beautiful dewy finish while still giving me pretty good coverage. I typically only need one pump for my entire face.

Applying foundation to areas that need more coverage

After you’ve blended out the base of your foundation, take some of it on your fingertips and pat it over the areas that need a little bit more coverage.

Applying concealer under the eyes

6. Apply concealer

For my concealer, I prefer to take it on the back of my hands first. Apply to the back of your hands, then use a damp sponge to pick it up and apply.

I feel like doing it this way gives it a much softer and much more beautiful effect compared to applying it directly to your skin.

I apply concealer under my eyes, over my lids, and on the bridge of my nose, but apply wherever you wish to conceal.

Setting face makeup with translucent powder

7. Set

Set all the areas that are prone to creasing with a translucent powder. I lightly dust under my eyes, on my chin, and a little bit on my forehead and nose. This keeps the oil at bay.

Applying contour to the sides of the face

8. Apply contour

For bronzed skin, take a contour and apply it to the sides of your face. Blend with a big fluffy brush. This helps get a soft, natural look compared to a harsher contour.

How to do fresh spring makeup

Take some of the product on your fingers and apply it by rubbing it down the bridge of your nose.

Mixing foundation with blush

9. Mix and apply blush

Mix a bit of liquid lipstick and a small dot of foundation to create your own cream blush. This blends beautifully and gives your skin a soft and natural flush of color. Apply to cheeks and nose.

Applying the blush mix to lips

10. Apply blush to lips

Use that same shade on your lips to give them a very natural soft pink shade that is reminiscent of your lips, but better.

Creating a fresh spring makeup look

11. Apply highlighter

Apply a highlighter to all the high points of your face, including your lips, with your fingertips.

Highlighter gives you such a beautiful sheen without any chunky glitter or shimmer particles and makes your skin look as if it’s lit from within.

Shaping brows with a spoolie brush

12. Shape brows

Using a spoolie or brow brush, brush your brows in an upward direction to give your eyes and face more lift.

Spring makeup ideas

Use a pencil to fill in.

Applying a matte brown eyeshadow

13. Apply eyeshadow

For eyeshadow, I used a matte brown shade and just used a small dot on my lid. Blend out. This shadow warms up my lids without being too tense.

Defining lashes with a light coat of mascara

14. Define your lashes

Curl your lashes and apply a light coat of mascara. Just enough to define lashes.

Highlighting the inner corners of the eyes

15. Apply highlighter to eyes

Tap a very little amount of highlighter to the center of your lids and the inner corners of your eyes.

Applying lip color and shine

16. Apply color and shine to your lips

For gloss, I’m actually using a lip sleeping mask! This gives a beautiful shine to my lips without being too sticky or heavy like an actual lip gloss.

Bright and fresh spring makeup look

To add more color, lightly pat a liquid lipstick to the center of your lips.

Spraying hydrating mist over makeup

17. Spray hydrating mist

Finish off with the hydrating mist again to make everything look super dewy, bright, and spring-like!

When I see the before pictures, you are already very beautiful- your eyes have such wonderful dimension and depth - very captivating. Your lips also have a wonderful cupid's bow that I wish I had. However, I feel the make up washes all this out and does not enhance your best features. Probably not what you want to hear but sometimes less is more. A little more color on the lips would be much more captivating and don't make the eyebrows so heavy. Draw attention to your biggest asset and don't let the lip color fade them into your face.
