Autumn is coming, which means you’re probably on the hunt for cute fall nail designs.

These fall brown nails with rhinestones are a gorgeous set, and I’m going to show you how I did them. Let’s get into it.

Tools and materials:

  • Light brown nail polish
  • Dark brown nail polish
  • Matte top coat
  • Clear acrylic powder
  • Clear base coat
  • Detail brush
  • Liner brush
  • Glitter nail polish
  • Gel glue
  • No-cleanse top coat
  • UV lamp
  • Nail bling
Applying base color

1. Apply a light brown base color to every nail except the index

For this set, I’m using XXL full-cover coffin tips.

The base color is a very beautiful light brown, nude color. I’m applying this color all over the nails except the index nails.

Applying brown polish

2. Apply a dark brown to the index nails

Apply a darker brown as a base for the index nails.

Progress shot

3. Apply a second coat

Go over every nail with a second coat of its respective color. This will help get a more opaque color.

Matte top coat

4. Apply a matte top coat to the index

Apply a matte top coat to the index nail and cure.

Adding lines

5. Draw two straight lines down the side of the nail

On the index nails, we’re going to be doing a sweater nail design that is perfect for fall and winter.

Using a long bristled brush, draw two straight lines down the sides of the nails. I have a really shaky hand, so the brush makes it easier to get a very straight line.

Adding lines

6. Draw two dashed lines

Switch to a smaller detail brush. This is what you’ll use to create the knitted sweater design.

Create two dashed lines between the two unbroken lines.

Connecting dashes

7. Connect the left dashes to the right dashes

Connect the left-dashed line to the right-dashed line of the pair beneath it.

Adding diagonal lines

8. Draw diagonal lines outside of the straight lines

Starting from the unbroken straight line, draw diagonal lines upwards on the other side of the line.

Adding diagonal lines

Do this for both sides of the nail.

Adding clear acrylic powder

9. Pour clear acrylic powder over the nail

Don’t cure or put the nail under the UV lamp after finishing the design.

Let it stay wet, and add any clear acrylic powder on top of the design. This will give it a perfect sweater effect.

Make sure to fully coat the gel polish. If you see any shininess on the nail, go back over it with the powder so it can really absorb the gel.

Progress shot

10. Cure

Cure under a UV lamp for 60 seconds, and then wipe off the excess powder.

Applying base coat

11. Apply a base coat to the middle nail

Apply a clear base coat to the middle nail.

Adding swirls

12. Draw swirls on the middle nail with dark brown polish

With a small detail brush, draw swirls all over the middle nail using the dark brown color from earlier.

Do the swirls however you want, because it all comes out really pretty.

You can even use a blooming gel for this, but the base coat works just as well.

Adding swirls

13. Draw swirls on the middle nail with a glitter polish

Wipe off the brown gel polish from the detail brush and use it again with a gold, champagne glitter color.

Be careful when blooming glitter colors because the glitter can spread really fast and overpower the nail.

Swirl design

14. Repeat the swirl design on the thumb and pinky nail

For the thumb and pinky, we’re doing the same exact design as the middle nail, but only on half of the nail.

That means you should only apply the clear base coat and the gel polishes halfway so you can create an ombre effect.

Applying gel glue

15. Apply gel glue

The ring finger is going to be a bling nail. Apply gel glue for gems and rhinestones all over the nail.

Applying top coat

16. Apply matte top coat

Apply a matte top coat over the ring fingernail.

Adding bling

17. Add bling

Add gems or charms over the nail in any design you like. You can also leave it matte or even add maple leaves.

Adding top coat

18. Apply the top coat to the rest of the nails

Apply a no-cleanse top coat to all of the nails that haven’t been top-coated yet.

Cure in the UV lamp for two minutes.
