Bubbling Bath Truffle Recipe
How to make DIY bubbling bath truffle recipe. These fizz like a bath bomb, but they are more moisturizing and easier to make.
This bath scoop recipe makes a dough that's perfect for scooping. I used an ice cream scoop, so you don't even need a special mold. I have more tips and substitutions in my bubbling bath truffle recipe post.
You'll need:
- 6 tablespoons coconut oil
- 2 tablespoons fractionated coconut oil
- 20 drops essential oils
- 1 cup baking soda
- 4 tablespoons citric acid
- 8 tablespoons arrowroot powder
- 1 teaspoon mica
- 1/2 tablespoon polysorbate 80
Melt the coconut oil in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Then add the fractionated coconut oil, polysorbate 80, and essential oils. Stir well. Combine the baking soda, citric acid, and arrowroot powder in a bowl and stir to combine.
Pour the oils over the dry ingredients and stir. Use gloved hands to combine if necessary.
Divide the dough into three bowls. Add mica. Stir to combine.
Layer each color in a large ice cream scoop. Press firmly with the back of a spoon. Scoop onto a plate or tray and let dry for 1-2 days. If you use them before they are dry, they won't fizz as much.
After two days they should be hard. Store in an airtight container. Add one to running water like you would a bath bomb.
