Do you struggle with a three-strand braid? Have no worries; here, I’m going to show you a two-strand twist option instead.

This technique is super simple. Let’s jump on in!

Tools and materials:

  • Hair elastics
Crossing hair

1. Cross one section of second

Take a section at the top of your head and split it in two. Then, cross the outside piece over the top, away from your face.

Adding more hair

2. Add more hair

After each cross, add another section of hair from each side.

Braiding

3. Continue

Continue crossing the two sections until you run out of hair to hold.

Tying off bottom

4. Tie off bottom

Then, tie off the bottom of your braid.

Fluffing hair

5. Fluff twist

Finish off by gently pulling on your hair to fluff it out.

Can’t braid? This is a 2-strand twist option!

Here is the finished twisted look. These “braids” are beautiful, but they’re not really braids - they’re just two strands of hair twisted over each other.

I love the finished look, and it was so easy to create. I hope you’ll give it a try for yourself!
