Business causal style dressing is becoming increasingly popular. It's the perfect mix of comfortable and presentable! I'm going to show you a few different ways that I have styled athleisure and loungewear pieces with business style attire for the perfect mix. My staple business themed pieces in my wardrobe include button-up shirts, blazers, and tailored pants so I will be using those primarily for this styling tutorial.
One of my favourite ways to mix athleisure with formal styling is to use a sports bra as a base. Here I have styled a plain white sports bra with a white button down and a simple black skirt. The sports bra is really comfortable and easy to wear, especially in a simple neutral colour like white, black, or grey. To accessorize I added a pair of black sunglasses, black heeled sandals, and a small purse. This outfit would be perfect for an evening out or an event because the plain colours make the look slightly more elevated. I would not recommend styling bold patterns into this outfit because it will look less formal and more like sportswear.
This outfit uses a bikini top underneath an oversized blazer. If you're looking to find the perfect oversized blazer I recommend sizing up one or two sizes in your favourite style. By pairing this combo together it elevates the bikini top while making it appear as if it was intended to be worn as a top. Again, I have used all neutral colours for styling this outfit to keep it appropriate for a business casual dress style. I paired the top with white denim and other simple accessories including a headband and some gold jewelry.
In this look I used biker shorts as my base, then paired them with a faux leather oversized blazer in a pastel yellow. This look has a bit more colour than the other two examples I've shown. Its super easy to dress up biker shorts and make your look more chic by adding unique dressier pieces overtop. I especially love biker shorts in the summer for the added comfort and flexibility, as well as the ability to easily layer with them. You could pop a midi or maxi skirt overtop as well and transition from a work outfit to a going out outfit in a flash! These tips can be used to style pieces you already own or you can shop similar products to what I've used using the links in the text.Make sure to follow me on instagram @melissaradford for more styling tips!
