In this tutorial, I'm going to give you three tips to slay your personal style.

These things are super easy to apply in your daily life, and following them will help you look and feel your best possible self.

Let’s get started with the first tip!

Basic outfit idea

1. Create style formulas

Style formulas are something that has changed the way that I get dressed every morning.

I recommend mixing and matching basic pieces that are easy to put together.

Once you have that base layer and you know it works, then you're going to be unstoppable because you can style the base layer with anything that you have in your closet.

Working from scratch is like having a blank canvas in front of you and trying to come up with a masterpiece. It's very hard, and it's very intimidating to do that.

But, once you have a strong base, then you can build on top of that, and it's going to be a lot easier to come up with a stylish outfit.

Basic outfit idea

To give an example, a base layer can be a pair of jeans and a T-shirt.

You can then add to the base layer to create interesting outfits that work with your personal style.

Here, I’ve layered an oversized blazer on top as my third piece.

2. Figure out what works

Figure out your body shape and what works for your shape. That's going to help you to come up with outfits that are not just pretty and trendy, but outfits that actually empower you and accentuate your best features.

I have more of an hourglass shape, so for my body, tucking in my shirts looks so much better than if I leave them out.

This is because to make my body shape shine, I need to cinch the waist and show off that I do have a waist. Otherwise, I'm going to look square and very big because I have big breasts and a big bum.

So I make sure that every time I get dressed, I try to show off my waist somehow.

Figure out what works for your body and what's going to make your body shine - what kind of necklines, what kind of shoulders, and what kind of pants.

3. Listen to your body language

To dress well, your clothes don’t have to be flashy or expensive. Being comfortable is the most important part.

What being comfortable means will be different for each person. Some people are going to feel super comfortable and like themselves in a teeny tiny dress showing off everything.

But, if wearing a mini dress isn’t going to make you feel comfortable, then don’t wear one! Find something else that you feel great in.

To look stylish, you need to be confident in what you're wearing, and you need to be comfortable in your own skin.

When you become too self-conscious of what you're wearing, then your confidence goes down.

Personal styling tips

I hope you’ve found these personal styling tips helpful for how to dress better.

I find that following these tips means you don’t have to think about things as much because you already have your outfit formulas, and you already know what works for your body type to make you look your best.
