4 Work Outfit Ideas That You'll Feel Great In

Are you looking for work outfit ideas? I’m going to show you some cute work outfit ideas so you can take very classic and traditional corporate outfits and restyle them to make them more interesting.

I’ll also show you how to make them more wearable for seamless integration between home and work life.

Ever since this hybrid work model emerged, many of us have been working from home and going into the office. It can be complicated to figure out how to dress for both while remaining stylish.

I’ll give you some ideas and styling tips to get the most out of your closet.

1. First work outfit idea

For the first look, let’s try a printed button-down blouse with a pair of black pants. This is nice and comfortable for working from home. You can leave the shirt out and keep everything casual.

The look can quickly and easily be upgraded and transformed to make it office-appropriate. You can do this by tucking in your shirt and adding a nice belt. The belt pulls the look together creating shape and adding a new texture.

You can elevate the outfit further with wisely chosen footwear. I recommend a patent leather shoe to add more variety in texture. Another option would be to wear a shoe color that accentuates and brings out the colors in your shirt.

Jewelry is a great way to create some interest for things like virtual calls where you will only be seen from the shoulders up.

Earrings and necklaces are a fun way to add some personality. You don’t have to go over the top. Even subtle, classic jewelry will add so much to your overall look.

2. Second work outfit idea

The first iteration of this outfit is great for working at home. I paired some structured wide-leg jeans with a black shirt and a tan blazer. My tan shoes add some visual continuity.

To make this look more office appropriate I put on some kitten heel sling back shoes. This helps make the pants look more like trousers and less like denim.

I also swapped out the casual tan blazer for a more structured black blazer. I wanted something fitted and sleek to make the outfit look almost like a suit.

I also swapped out the shirt with a simple white tank top with a higher neckline. This creates a more clear focal point. For jewelry, I put a watch over the long sleeve of the blazer and added some rings.

Gold Jewelry

I tried a couple of earring options. The first were some thick hoop earrings. The hoops are strong and structured and work well with the blazer.

The second option creates a little bit of tension and adds an unexpected element. The pearl drop earrings create a more organic look that is more soft. The white of the pearls pulls from the white of the shirt.

3. Third work outfit idea

For the 3rd home look, I put on a gray sweater with a black pencil skirt. It’s comfortable and casual, yet easy to elevate for the office and client meetings. I switched the sweater out for a striped shirt and tucked it into the skirt. I also added a belt and some red heels.

The striped sweater adds a bit more tension with the pencil skirt which is more elevated and elegant. I’m creating tension with a mix of styles. The belt I added has a casual feel to create some harmony between the casual and structured elements.

The red shoes add some color and fun. I also stacked some rings on my fingers. I went with a more subtle earring because the outfit already has a lot going on.

4. Fourth work outfit idea

The home look is an untucked striped button-down blouse with a pair of wide-leg tan trousers. This is a simple look to wear and simple to elevate for office wear. All I did was tuck in the blouse and add a belt.

The tucked-in shirt looks great with these high-waisted pleated pants. It allows me to show off the tailoring details of the pants. The shoes are light and flat. The look is harmonious and balanced and it still feels like I’m dressed appropriately for work.
