6 Ways to Style Stirrup Leggings Outfits, From Casual to Classy

1. Bold pattern

First up, I’ve paired a patterned floral shirt with my stirrup leggings. The detailing of the print looks really great contrasted against the plain black of the leggings, and because the pattern has black in it, they work well together.

My white and green loafers also tie in nicely with the shirt that has the same colors in it.

To add some more character, I’ve layered a sleeveless denim jacket over the top of the shirt. This outfit has many elements in it yet is a cohesive and unified look.

2. Classy

Next up, I’ve gone for something a little more classy. Pairing the leggings with heels instantly elevates them and transforms the aesthetic from casual to dressed up.

Up on top, I’ve gone for a blazer worn with a statement belt around the waist which brings structure and definition to the look. The bright yellow of the belt provides a nice and slightly unexpected pop of color against the dark tones of the rest of the outfit.

3. Neutral tones

Like the first look, I’ve also gone for something patterned up on top, but this time I’ve stuck with a neutral color palette.

If you enjoy wearing print but don’t want something that stands out too much, then wearing prints in a neutral or dark color is what you want to opt for.

The cardigan isn’t completely neutral; as you can see, there are some little subtle touches of color around the bottom with the green, red and yellow stripes.

4. Trench coat

In this look, I’ve gone for an orange trench coat, but I’m wearing it as a dress. That’s the great thing about trench coats and other long styles of coats; when worn the right way, they can really double up as a dress or an extension of it.

As the stirrup leggings are black, you can pair them with any color - they can handle it.

I wanted to make the most of this by opting for something really bright and eye-catching. A pair of leopard print shoes tie in perfectly with the Panthera vibe.

5. Elevated everyday

Here we have a comfy and casual look that I’ve dressed up with some high-heels and glamorous accessories. Up on top, I’m wearing a long graphic sweater.

As you can see from all of the looks that I’m styling, these leggings really need to be worn with a long top, sweater, or cardigan that will cover your butt and hip area. If worn with a shorter top, I don’t think they look quite right.

If you’re not sure whether to wear a jacket or not, simply tie one around your waist as I’ve gone here. Not only will you then have the option to wear it, but it will also act as a style element in your outfit.

6. Athleisure

Last up, I have a chic-looking outfit that has a bit of an athleisure vibe to it because of the leggings styled with sneakers.

In this look, I’m wearing a strappy top and have paired it with a large snuggly knit cardigan which contrasts with the fit and length of the top and also provides that coverage that I mentioned before.

A pair of sunnies and a designer bag finish this look off.
