How to Dress Up & Dress Down Mom Jeans: Glam Vs Casual
Here I’m going to show you how to style one pair of mom jeans in two different ways. I’ll be sharing with you a dressed-up look as well as a dressed-down look to show you how to get the most out of the clothes in your wardrobe.
Skinny jeans always used to be my favorite, but now I can safely say that mom jeans have taken their place and are at the top of the denim leaderboard for me. They are just so flattering, versatile, and comfy too!
I personally own a light wash, distressed knee pair with a roll-up hem, but these outfits will work with whatever you have because denim and jeans are just awesome like that! So, let’s get into it!
How to dress up mom jeans
For my dressed-up look, I’ve gone a little scandalous with a white lace bodysuit. I then layered a pink suede biker jacket over the top to give me a bit more coverage, and the jacket also ties in nicely with the pink on the design.
From far away, I can get away with it, but I probably wouldn’t wear this particular bodysuit out in public. I do love the juxtaposition of casual ripped jeans with a sexy lace bodysuit, though!
I felt like I really had to up the dressed-up-ness of the to have enough contrast between this and the dressed-down version. For accessories, I’ve gone with my basic nude pumps, some silver hoop earrings, and my rose gold layered choker necklace set.
How to dress down mom jeans
Here we have the dressed-down look. I realize that wearing heels in a dressed-down look is not so practical, but I just couldn’t resist because I love them so much. If you must, just imagine them as flat blue sandals instead.
For the outfit, I’ve gone for one of those rare bright color block type outfits that I absolutely love, in contrast to the many neutral-colored outfits I mostly wear. I paired these light blue heels with a creamy, subtly striped singlet top and a yellow cardigan.
The accessories are quite minimal; I just added some cream-colored rose stud earrings, and that’s it.

There we have two different ways that you can style mom jeans, a more formal look and a more casual one. Styling your clothes in different ways is great for helping you discover how versatile they can be as well as getting maximum wear out of them.
