A turtleneck is an essential piece for any woman to have in her fall/winter wardrobe. Here, I’ll be giving you some turtleneck outfit ideas with six outfits I’ve styled.

I have a black one, a red one, and a beige one and have made two outfits with each. Let’s jump on in!

Miniskirt outfit

1. Miniskirt outfit

For the first outfit, I’m wearing a black turtleneck with a cute miniskirt as well as some over-the-knee boots also in black.

I’m not wearing tights, but in colder weather, you could easily pop on a pair of black tights to keep your legs warmer. I like wearing orange in the winter as it is a warm-toned color, and the winter is also pumpkin season!

Plaid is also a great print for the fall that we tend to see a lot of in the stores around this time of year.

Masculine feel

2. Masculine feel

Here, we’re going from a very feminine outfit to a masculine-inspired one. I’m wearing relaxed men's pants and dad sneakers with a turtleneck under a thrifted oversized t-shirt up on top.

This combination of a t-shirt on top of a long-sleeved top gives this outfit very 90s vibes.

I think that fashion is cyclical, so it’s great to draw on past trends and bring them back around again. The layered tops are also super warm, which is a big plus for cold weather.

Jumpsuit outfit

3. Jumpsuit outfit

I adore monochrome looks, so here I styled this beige turtleneck under a beige jumpsuit. The jumpsuit is comfy yet stylish at the same time.

As it has quite a loose fit, I added a belt to emphasize the waist, and I’m also wearing it with heels to give it a more feminine feel.

The great thing about this look is that we have four different shades of beige going on, so it looks anything but boring.

Adding different shades of beige makes the outfit look harmonious, yet it has that element of contrast that a monochrome look needs.

Leather jacket outfit

4. Leather jacket outfit

Here, I’m wearing a beige turtleneck with my favorite faux leather jacket and relaxed jeans with some pointed-toe boots.

All the colors in this outfit are neutral and discreet, which makes for a coordinated look.

It is so simple and basic yet really perfect for the season. I also like the contrast of the high turtleneck against the lower V-neck of the leather jacket.

Red-on-red

5. Red-on-red

Next up, we have our red turtleneck, which is great because it reminds me of Christmas.

For this outfit, I paired the red turtleneck with a red wool jacket, white pants, and white sneakers.

Red with black

6. Red with black

For the last outfit, I paired the red turtleneck with black high-waisted jeans, boots, and a baker-boy hat.

Black and red together create a high-contrast look, and also the neutrality of the black allows the red to pop and really take center stage.

When you go for an uncomplicated look like this, you still want to bring in some subtle elements of interest. In this outfit, I like how the round rings on the shoe zipper add in some low-key detail.

Turtleneck outfit ideas

There we have six looks using three different turtlenecks. I hope this style guide has shown you that you can take turtlenecks in so many ways so that whatever your personal aesthetic, there is a way to style this wardrobe staple.

Whether you want to go feminine, masculine, laid-back, dressed-up, neutral, or bright, you can with a turtleneck top.
