Hints on Mixing Prints
To be honest, I'm not big into mixing prints. However, I am into breaking fashion rules, so that is not the issue I have with it. I just think it's something difficult to nail. But here are my pieces of advice if you're looking to take get your feet wet.
First, pair a big print with a little; not a little print with another little, or a big print with another big. Here my bird blouse is the big print and the tweed on my blazer is the little print. The spacing is balanced and pleasing to the eye. Second, stay in the same color family. The brown, earthy tones found in both the blouse and the blazer complement each other really well. I don't think this blazer would look as coordinated with a neon floral pattern beneath.
Third, keep everything else about your look subtle. I wore this combination with: a very classic pair of pants, in a neutral color and cut, basic flats, no earrings, and even minimal makeup. But, to further sell the intelligent (but insanely chic) look I was going for I did throw on some blue light blocking glasses and my watch.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, don't forget to toss in a good measure of confidence. Because seriously, it's not so much about what you wear, but how you wear it.

Love these tips :)
Great tips! This theory works for scrapbook paper, too. I'm more into paper crafts rather than sewing crafts but y'all do some amazing makeovers!
