Celebrate Autumn in Style

With Halloween on Sunday, we are well and truly in Autumn and this year I have endeavoured to celebrate the season as much as I do Christmas. Every year I get ready for Christmas nice and early, buying presents, eating seasonal treats and wearing festive jumpers, and it makes me feel so happy. So I want to celebrate the other seasons in much the same way and of course the best way to do that is of course by dressing in cosy (yet chic) autumnal outfits.

Hats are by far the most glamorous accessory you can wear and my favourite for this time of year is the fedora, particularly in a beautiful, neutral camel colour like this one. This is from Shein and sadly it arrived squished but I think I've managed to get the creases out!

Playing with tones is a wonderful way to up your outfit game. This outfit is a mix of rich, warm burgundy colours and timeless camels, plus the chocolate brown tights tie everything in together.

I absolutely love this Loewe belt in tan with the topstitch detail. It works well for all seasons and I have threaded it through the front of the cape to give me a little more shape, but I still get that flowing cape look that's so on trend because I haven't put the belt all the way around.

If you make only one purchase in Autumn/Winter 2021, make it a pair of knee-high or over-the-knee boots. Honestly, once you try them you will never go back! They give you an extra layer of warmth and they make every outfit look that little bit more stylish. They also add a youthful edge to more conservative looks.

If you struggle to find tall boots to fit your legs because of your bodyshape, try the pull-on style of over-the-knee boots as they are easier to get on and off due to the soft fabric. Some also have tie-detail at the back to avoid them slipping down. It's also a great idea to get a pair with a low block heel to give you that little lift that improves your posture.

Transitioning to colder weather doesn't mean saying goodbye to florals. Dark florals work beautifully in Autumn/Winter. I love a large floral pattern but there are also plenty of ditsy styles around on the high street.

A dark floral maxi shirt dress is the perfect clothing item this time of year. It can be worn for work and for play and if you pair with tights (or even leggings - no one's going to see!) and over-the-knee boots like the ones above, you'll be toasty-warm all throughout Winter.

Wrap coats actually can't be beaten. There is no style of outerwear that is more flattering. It looks great on all body types - as long as you get the right size! None of this 'I'll fit in it one day' nonsense.

I love the wrap coats from Ted Baker. If you wait around for Black Friday sales or Spring sales, you'll get one for a good price and they are amazing quality as well as being completely, 100% timeless. They will never, ever go out of style.

How are you celebrating Autumn this year?
