4 Glamorous Christmas Party Makeup Looks for the Festive Season
'Tis the season of Christmas parties and dressing jolly, so you’ll need a festive makeup look to match. If you’re looking for the best Christmas party makeup, I’ve got you covered.
In this tutorial, I’m going to be showing you four easy and festive Christmas party eye makeup looks you can do for your December celebrations.
Whether you want to look merry and bright, naughty or nice, I’ve got the perfect looks so you can blow everyone away for the most wonderful time of the year.
Tools and materials:
- Eyeshadow palette
- Makeup brushes
- Lipstick, lip gloss, and lip liner
- Glittery gel liner or eyeshadow
- Mascara
- Black eyeliner
- False eyelashes
- Decorative face gems
Classic Christmas party makeup - gold and red
For the first look, grab your favorite makeup palette. I’m using the London Copyright Palace Palette, but you can use whatever you have at home.
For the first color, we’re going for a light brown shade. The one I’m using is called Toffee.
Using a fluffy brush, apply the color around the outer corner of your eye. Try not to go too high or too far out.
Then, using a more compact brush, slightly wet it and use a golden shade to fill in the rest of the lid, making sure to apply above the crease. Use a clean brush to buff it out.
Use the first light brown shade to blend the two colors smoothly and then apply it under your eyes as well.
Next, grab a black pencil eyeliner and thinly line your top eyelid. Then, add mascara to fill out your lashes.
While your mascara settles, apply a classic Christmas red lip. The lipstick I’m using is the Face Theory’s Lip Colour. It’s a vibrant, intense red that fits right in for the holiday season.
Finally, add your favorite lashes. I went for a thick, fuller lash to really fill out my eyes.
That’s it! This makeup look is great if you want a full glam Christmas party makeup look. You can’t go wrong with a red lip and a gold eye. It’s timeless and all-around perfect for this time of year.
Christmas party makeup - berries & cream
For the next look, I’m starting with a dusty pink color. Apply the eyeshadow from the inner corner to the outer corner. This is going to function as our transition color.
Next, grab a darker version of the dusty pink, and apply it to the innermost corners, making sure to leave a gap between them. Once you’ve laid the colors down, use a different brush to blend them out.
Now, take a flat brush and some concealer and, using the gap you created previously, apply it all the way to the top of your eyebrow.
You only need a small amount, so be careful not to go overboard. Once applied, blend away any harsh lines.
I went back in after with the darker shade on the inner corners to deepen it out a bit, and then applied it under my eye.
Since the shadow creates a darker look, use a nude liner in your waterline to widen your eyes a bit.
To pull it all together, use the same liner and mascara from the previous look, but this time, apply the lashes from the outer corner so you’re not covering the highlight you made with concealer.
Apply a nude lip so you’re not overshadowing your eye look. A great hack I love is to apply a bit of concealer in the middle of your lip after you apply lipstick to achieve a fuller look.
Here’s the end result!
Sparkly Christmas party makeup
For this look, I wanted to dazzle so I chose a glittery gel liner as my focal piece. Anything that sparkles works, so grab a gel like I did or eyeshadow and apply it all over your lid.
Instead of false lashes, apply thick layers of mascara for a chunky look.
To make up for the subtlety of our eye, go for a bold, statement lip. I chose the Huda Beauty Demi Matte lip in the shade Sheika but any deep rose color will match.
Otherwise, a gorgeous royal purple or a bright red would work beautifully here.
This look is simple, gets you out the door in 10 minutes, but is bound to leave a lasting impression.
Christmas party makeup with gems
For the final look, start by using the same palette as the first, and grab that same light brown shade to create a soft wing. For a bolder look, deepen the wing with a darker brown.
Next, add some decorate face gems and apply them in a line following the curve of your eye.
The smaller the gem, the more subtle the look will be but if you want to stand out more, definitely opt for a larger gem.
Finish off the eye look with mascara.
For your lips, apply a similar nude color as the previous look, but finish it with a lip gloss to make the gems pop.
Apply the same concealer trick, and you’re done! This look is dazzling without looking too flashy and is guaranteed to catch some eyes.
