Pretty Flower Crystals on a DIY Jean Jacket
In today’s tutorial, I will be showing you how to transform your denim jacket. This DIY jean jacket makeover will take your ordinary jacket and make it extraordinary!
Tools and materials:
- Denim jacket
- Denim fabric
- Pins
- Tracing wheel
- Thread
- Needle
- Scissors
- Crystal flowers
Cut out your flowers
Take your crystal flowers and place them all around your jacket, finding the best placement for them. Once that’s done, trace around the flowers so that the placement is marked. Cut out the tracing and begin to fray the edges (using your tracing wheel).
Attach the flower
Place the flower on the spare piece of denim and cut out a circle that is about one centimeter larger than the flower. Next, take that circle of denim and slip it inside the jacket, underneath the frayed circle and pin it in place. Place the flower on top of the patch and hand stitch the crystal flower into place. Repeat this process with all the remaining flowers on the jacket.
Fray the fabric
Place a book or piece of cardboard in the jacket and cut lines between the flowers. Then, using your tracing wheel, fray the fabric of these cut lines.
I am so happy with this embellished DIY jean jacket. It was simple, easy, and completely one of a kind. For a different look, mess around with the different crystals until you get the look you want!
