Turn a Man's Blazer Into THIS
Turn a man’s vintage blazer into a stylish bolero with a Spanish feel.
This upcycled blazer requires only basic sewing skills but the result is stunning.
I like vintage tailoring because the quality is usually excellent and I thrifted my blazer for very little.
Tools and materials:
- Men's lined blazer
- Scissors
- 8 - 10 gold pendants
- Fabric glue
- Pins
- Sewing machine
1. Crop to length
Lay the blazer flat and line up the side seams and lower edges.
Cut straight through both layers just below the armholes.
2. Shape the front
I cut the front into a curved shape to make it more interesting. This is an optional step.
3. Hem the lower edges
Turn in a narrow double hem on the lower edges of the front and back.
Pin and sew them in place.
4. Decorate
Arrange four or five gold colored pendants along the front lower edge on each side of the opening.
Use a strong fabric glue to hold them in place.
If you prefer, you can hand sew them.

Olé! You could decorate the back edge as well if you wanted.
I styled my bolero with a black corset top and pants and a white shirt.
It would also look stunning over a plain low cut dress.
I love this very dramatic look.
